Delegation to Taiwan
The Hong Kong Chinese Importers’ & Exporters’ Association organized a delegation to Taiwan, visiting Kaohsiung, Taichung and Taipei. This is HKCIEA’s first return visit after the coming of Taichung and Kaohsiung government and several Taiwan chambers to Hong Kong.
The delegation was led by President Lam Lung On, members including Vice President and Honorary Secretary Mr Chan King, Vice President Mr Kenneth Chan, Chairman of the Hong Kong Food Council Mr Thomas Ng, Chairman of Hong Kong Travel Agent Owners Association Mr Freddy Yip and buyers from different food industry. President Lam said the return visit is to maintain relationships with Taiwan and to search products that suitable for Hong Kong market, widening the platform for Taiwan-Hong Kong Cooperation.
Seminars were held during the delegation with the Mayor of Taichung Lu Shiow-Yen, Deputy Mayor of Kaohsiung Yeh Kuang-shih and government officials. They exchanged views on the economic development, product advantages, key industries. Both Taichung and Kaohsiung organized products exhibition, allowing buyers and suppliers to start business. Fruits, delicate pastry and processed aquatic products were displayed. Members who have been promoting Taiwan products were satisfied of their product quality and variety.
During the 4 days of visit, we have received warm welcome from Taiwan. Every member was pleased.
